After serving 15 years in jail for a crime that he claims he did not commit, Ben Jordan (Hauer) is released from prison. He soon falls in love with his social worker, Laura Matthews (Richardson), who believes that he is innocent. As she pieces together the puzzle of events on that horrible night, Laura begins to discover evidence that does not add up.
