David Spritz (Cage) is a successful local weather man but a failure with his family. He lives in the shadow of his Pulitzer Prize writer father Robert Spritz (Caine), and is divorced from his wife. He is distanced from his children – a daughter who is ridiculed in school and a son just coming out of rehab. A lucrative New York job offer soon arrives and David must make a huge decision between his career and family.
