Ten years after the death of the master illusionist, Harry (Schaech) and his widow Bess (Edwards) attempt to summon his spirit with the help of a medium (Perlman). From there on, the legacy of Houdini is told in a series of flashbacks - from his poverty-stricken childhood in New York to his incredible rise to international celebrity, capturing the hearts and minds of the masses with his death-defying feats. It also takes a peep into the darker side of Houdini, a perfectionist obsessed with his craft and gaining love and respect of his mother; and his so-called "Holy War" against fraud clairvoyants.
